Rick and Rack is a statement about nature vs. humanity. The animals find us humans interesting despite materialism, alcoholism and all the other negative aspects of our civilization. Our creativity, individualism and curiosity are all part of human nature, too, and Rack finds that fascinating. Rick's pessimistic approach to life is part of human nature, too.
