uclick incorporates, opens Kansas City and Cambridge, Mass. Offices.

KANSAS CITY - February 18, 2000 - Universal New Media, the digital media division of Universal Press Syndicate, has spun off from its parent company and begun operating under the new name, uclick.

Operating out of offices in Kansas City, Missouri and Cambridge, Massachusetts, uclick is dedicated to bringing the work of America's most prominent and widely-read content in creators to millions of online viewers.

uclick already has established relationships with more than 150 content creators whose work it distributes on a fee-for-syndication basis to several hundred web sites including AOL.com, CNNi, Netscape, MSNBC.com, Salon.com and New York Times.com. Additionally, uclick has built and maintains a network of high-volume consumer web sites focused on the work of specific creators. These sites include Garfield.com, Doonesbury.com, and Foxtrot.com. Through its existing network of consumer web sites and distribution clients, uclick's content reaches over 110 million unique visitors each month.

"We represent the names that people know," said John Howard, President and CEO of uclick. "We're starting with an industry-leading portfolio of talent, but we're not stopping there. Howard is a 19-year veteran of Time Inc., where he served as CFO and Senior VP of Information Technology and Customer Service. Most recently, as an independent management consultant, he has worked with such clients as AOL, AT&T, and Disney. He leads a staff of 40 split between uclick's Kansas City and Cambridge offices.
