uclick: The Story

We believe that good content is habit-forming. Our business is discovering, developing and distributing high-quality content for the Web so that our customers can keep their customers engaged for as long as possible.

Our customers are Web sites who want to expand their user base and engage their current customers. We help them to do this by supplying them with the most compelling and addictive content on the Web. Our mission is to grab users for you -- and help you hold them.

Right now, uclick delivers quality content to 500 Web sites daily. Our customers include portal sites, news delivery sites, content aggregators, online newspapers and dot com businesses.

How are we different from our competitors? There are other companies vying to supply content on the Web. uclick's strategy is fundamentally different from theirs. Our competitors are betting on a "more is better" strategy. We believe that "better is better."

Their plan is to acquire and distribute as much content as possible without regard to excellence or the degree of loyalty the content inspires. Our experience in the content-distribution business tells us that there is a better way to win the Web: High value, branded content that becomes habit-forming.

We don't aspire to have the most content. We aspire to have the most compelling content on the Web -- content worth coming back for.

What We Do:

  • uclick is the largest packager and distributor of comics and word games on the Web.
  • uclick syndicates the highly sought-after work of more than 100 content creators. uclick represents the names people know.
  • uclick's content offering includes Garfield, Doonesbury, Cathy, FoxTrot, News of the Weird, The Motley Fool, Dear Abby, Universal Crossword and many other top-quality comic strips, games and text features. And we'll be developing the next generation of familiar names. Stay tuned.
  • uclick delivers content to hundreds of clients, including major consumer and news portals. Our clients include Yahoo!, MSNBC.com, washingtonpost.com, CNNi and hundreds of others.
  • uclick was formerly Universal New Media, the digital media division of Andrews McMeel Universal -- the largest independent newspaper syndicate in the world and an emerging leader in book and calendar publishing and gift and stationery merchandising.

Chris Pizey
President and Chief Executive Officer

Chris has over twenty years experience in publishing technology, infrastructure and business development. Chris has led the expansion of uclick's content syndication business through strategic deals with the Web's premier publishers, while expanding uclick's online publishing business from its infancy to current levels in excess of 75 million pages delivered each month (uclick's award-winning Web sites include: MyComicsPage.com, uPuzzles.com, Garfield.com, Doonesbury.com, GoComics.com and uExpress.com.) His leadership has been instrumental in shaping uclick's industy-leading development of Web for-fee subscription services and wireless content licensing. Chris is a 1984 graduate of Heidelberg College.
